ProPress and MegaPress Training

Description: This credential training course provides participants with the knowledge and hands-on experience required to properly install and inspect press-connect piping systems using ProPress and MegaPress technologies. Participants will learn the fundamentals of press technology, including system components, tool operation, jaw selection, and proper installation techniques for copper and carbon steel piping systems. The course covers key topics such as pipe preparation, pressing procedures, troubleshooting, and manufacturer-recommended best practices. Upon successful completion, participants will earn a credential demonstrating their competency in ProPress and MegaPress systems, enhancing their qualifications and job readiness in the field.

Objectives: Upon completion of this class, students will: 

  • Understand the fundamentals of press-connect technology for copper and carbon steel piping systems.
  • Demonstrate proper pipe preparation, tool setup, and pressing techniques.
  • Identify and select the correct press tools, jaws, and fittings for various applications.

Registration closes: Thursday, June 4, 2026, or upon reaching max class size of 10.

Attendance Policy: You are required to attend each course in its entirety. You will receive your certificate and credit upon successful completion of the course.

No-Show/Cancellations Policy: Please be aware that cancellations made less than two days before the class begins, or failure to attend, will result in a $50.00 fee. All cancellations must be submitted via email to ceu@arpec.org

Continuing education: Participants who attend each course in its entirety will receive a certificate and continuing education credits.

YOUR SAFETY:

Dress code: For your own protection, participants are required to wear:

  • Closed-toe shoes: Sandals or open-toe shoes are not permitted.
  • Long pants: Shorts are not allowed.
  • Long-sleeved shirts: Short sleeved shirts are not permitted.

PPE: Bring the following and wear them at all times in the shop or when working with your hands.

  • Safety glasses, and work gloves.
  • Plus any additional safety-related PPE or equipment provided onsite, as directed by your instructor.

Failure to comply will result in being removed from class, and forfeiture of your class deposit.


Pricing

ARPEC’s training, funded via the labor contract’s hourly contribution, requires no registration fee or deposit. However, if you cancel within two days before the start of the class, or do not attend the class in full, you will be charged $50.00. If that occurs, that invoice must be paid in full before you can register for future classes. As an employee benefit trust, ARPEC is legally required to be a good steward of the trust's assets.
